Privacy Policy

Show Build Laboratories (Representative: Takashi Funama; "we", "us") sets out below how we handle users' information in the app "SBL Cue Timer" (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

(1) Account information (only if you sign in)

• Email address
• Sign-in method (email, Apple, or Google) and your user ID with each service
• Registration date/time and last sign-in date/time
• Country (from your device's region setting), the App's display language, and your device's language setting

You can use the App without signing in. In that case, we do not collect this information.

The account is common to all apps provided by Show Build Laboratories.

(2) Purchase information

• Pro plan subscription status (trial period, renewal, scheduled cancellation, expiration date, etc.)
• Records of AI credit purchases and usage
• The product purchased, the amount, the currency, and the country of the store where you made the purchase

Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive payment information such as credit card numbers.

(3) Content you submit

• If you use the sharing feature: the content of the show you share (show name, cues, captions, etc.) and its progress are stored on a server so that viewers can join.
• If you use nearby sync: the content and progress of the show you share are exchanged directly between nearby devices using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or the venue's LAN. This communication does not pass through our servers, and we do not obtain its contents. See Section 3 (3) for details.
• If you use OSC output: the progress (cue starts, remaining time, captions, etc.) is sent directly, within the same network, to the destination devices you have configured (lighting consoles, audio consoles, etc.). This communication does not pass through our servers, and we do not obtain its contents.
• If you use "Create with AI": the files you select (PDFs, images, spreadsheets, etc.) are stored temporarily for analysis and deleted once processing is complete. We also keep records such as the date/time of use, number of uses, success or failure, and processing volume (these do not include the contents of the files).

(4) Anonymous usage statistics (only if you consent)

Only if you choose "Send" in the App, we send the following information:

• How many times features were used (run screen, captions, sharing, nearby sync, Create with AI, etc.)
• The number of shows, sheets, and cues
• App version, OS type and version, device type, screen orientation, display language, and country of your region setting
• The date, and the time of day rounded to 3-hour blocks

These statistics are aggregated using a random ID generated within the App and are not linked to your account or email address. We do not use them to identify individuals.

We do not send the following: show names, cue names, performer names, caption text, notes, location, contacts, or advertising ID.

You can turn off the sending of usage statistics at any time in the settings screen.

(5) Automatically recorded information

For server operation, communication logs such as access date/time and IP addresses are recorded on our contractors' servers.

2. Purposes of Use

1. To create and authenticate accounts and to enable use of your data across devices
2. To provide and manage the Pro plan and AI credits (including displaying the remaining count)
3. To provide the App's features, such as sharing and Create with AI
4. To respond to inquiries and to investigate bugs and misuse
5. To improve the App and consider new features (including anonymous statistics, understanding usage by country and language, and deciding translation priorities)
6. To send important notices
7. To fulfill legal obligations such as accounting and tax requirements

3. Use of External Services

(1) Entrusted handling

We entrust the handling of information to the following external services. Except where required by law, we do not provide personal information to third parties without the individual's consent.

• About the Gemini API: We use the paid tier of the Gemini API. Under Google's terms, the files you send and the analysis results are not used to improve Google's products or to train AI. However, Google may retain records for a certain period to monitor for misuse.
• About businesses located in foreign countries: All of the above contractors are companies based in the United States. The United States has no comprehensive federal law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information; personal information is protected by sector-specific laws and state laws (please also refer to the survey results on foreign systems published by the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan). We use these services after confirming that each company's terms of service and data processing agreements provide for security measures, a prohibition on use for other purposes, management of sub-processors, and the like. Information about these measures is available upon request.

(2) Services of Apple and Google

Sign-in with Apple or Google and in-app purchases are handled in accordance with each company's privacy policy.

(3) Nearby sync (direct communication between devices)

• The device that created a share and nearby devices that joined with the share code connect directly without using the internet and exchange the show's content and progress. A device that receives the content may relay it to other nearby devices.
• The content of the communication is encrypted with a key derived from the share code and carries a signature from the device that created the share. Anyone who does not know the share code cannot read or alter the content. However, anyone who knows the share code can read the content, and if the communication is recorded, it may be possible to decrypt it over time. Do not share shows that contain confidential information.
• To establish connections, nearby devices can see a random ID generated within the App. Device names, personal names, and email addresses are not used.
• You can turn off nearby sync at any time in the App's settings. You can also deny the use of the local network in your device's settings (in that case, nearby sync and OSC output will not be available).

4. Retention Periods

• Account information: Retained until you delete your account.
• Shared data: Retained until you end the share or delete your account.
• Files for "Create with AI": Deleted as soon as processing is complete. Usage records are retained until you delete your account.
• Purchase and AI credit records: For accounting, handling refunds, and preventing fraud, these are retained even after account deletion until the accounting retention period (7 years) has elapsed. These are recorded by account ID only, without your email address.
• Anonymous usage statistics: Retained for 2 years, then deleted.
• Communication logs: Retained for the period set by our contractors.

5. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from the App's settings screen.

• Upon deletion, your account information, shared data, and remaining AI credits are erased and cannot be restored.
• If you delete your account, the same account can no longer be used in other Show Build Laboratories apps either.
• The purchase records described in Section 4 are retained after deletion.
• Information held by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google is handled in accordance with each company's policies and may not be erased by deleting your account with us.
• Subscriptions on the App Store / Google Play are not canceled when you delete your account. Please cancel them in each store's settings.

6. Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Deletion, etc.

For requests such as disclosure of retained personal data, correction, addition, or deletion, suspension or erasure of use, suspension of provision to third parties, disclosure of records of provision to third parties, and provision of information about provision to third parties in foreign countries, please contact us at the email address in Section 9. After verifying your identity, we will respond in accordance with applicable laws, in principle within 2 weeks. We do not charge a fee. Complaints about the handling of personal information are also accepted at the same contact point.

7. Security Measures

• Organizational measures: The representative is the person responsible for handling personal information, and the people who handle it are limited to the minimum necessary.
• Human measures: We ensure that those who handle personal information maintain confidentiality and handle it appropriately.
• Physical measures: We take measures to prevent theft and loss of devices that handle personal information.
• Technical measures: Communications are encrypted. Stored data is protected by access restrictions so that it cannot be read by other users (except what you make public through the sharing feature). Our administrative screens are operated in an environment that cannot be accessed directly from the internet, with authentication and protection against unauthorized access.
• Understanding the external environment: As described in Section 3, information is handled on servers in Japan and the United States. We implement security measures after understanding the personal information protection systems of each country.

8. Children's Use

The App is not intended for children under 13. Minors should use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian.

10. Revisions

We may revise this policy as necessary. We will announce significant changes in the App or on our website.
